35 YEARS IN AVIATION
A family owned and operated business, the Tucker’s have been involved in aviation for over 35 years. Established as Promair in the late 80’s and later formed into Tasfast Airfreight to provide an overnight freight service between Tasmania and the mainland. In 2004 driven by an increase in demand for passenger charter, Vortex Air was born and now flies upwards of 4000 passengers per annum, with a 100% accident-free safety record.

Specialising in Golf Packages, Vortex Air eliminates the logistical nightmare of commercial airlines and on-ground transfers. Set a departure time to suit your requirements and Vortex will handle every element of your trip, from car hire and bus transfers, to organising golf tee off times and planning your accommodation.
THE PILOTS
Vortex Air only employ and train the best. Through our sister company Vortex Air – Elite Training Academy; we are able to train and prepare our pilots for all flying conditions and situations. They then gain the many hours needed as pilot-in-command through our freight arm Tasfast Airfreight before we allow them to command our passenger aircraft.
THE AIRCRAFT
Bass Strait Golf utilises the PC12, a corporate single engine aircraft suitable for 8 passengers and capable of flying 420kmph. The single engine Cessna Caravan, one of the most reliable and popular aircraft in the world, that can easily accommodate 12 golfers with their own bags. And the Piper Chieftain, a twin engine capable of flying 350km and is the economical charter option capable of lifting 8 passengers with golf club pencil bags.
