It’s the dawning of a new era in golf touring. The 2016 Bass Strait Masters is the first tournament of its kind, and it’s right on your doorstep. In terms of ‘Stay and Play’ golf, it simply doesn’t get better than this.

Picture this; beside you, crash the powerful waters of Bass Strait. In front of you, nothing but lush green acres hidden amongst the dramatic sand dunes of Tasmania’s most pristine, links golf courses. For four whole days, escape with your friends on your own private charter flight across Bass Strait and experience some of the most supreme and remote golf courses in the world.

There will be a daily tournament on each course crowning both an individual and team winner. Then, at the end of it all, we will announce the champions that have prevailed on top of the leader board after going the distance in this most challenging event.

Welcome, to the 2016 Bass Strait Masters.

Departing from Moorabbin Airport on the 9th of April, in just 45 minutes Vortex Air will fly you to the raw and rugged charm of King Island. Over the next two days, you will play both Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes.

Already reviews of Cape Wickham attest to its world-class status – “Play before you die. Can only get better and is already outstanding” – John Byrne.  Cape Wickham boasts eight holes set right along the rugged coastline and another two where any approach shot is played right into the ocean backdrop. All 18 holes enjoy views of Bass Strait, and most are in view of Australia’s largest lighthouse. Few courses interface with the ocean quite like Cape Wickham.

After your first day of golfing you will wine and dine on King Island’s highly praised local cuisine and enjoy presentations for the day’s play, before staying overnight on King Island.

Wake up the following morning to get updated results from the US Masters over breakfast, before heading off to Ocean Dunes to tee off for the second leg of the tournament.

Ocean Dunes is the brainchild of golf architect Graeme Grant and is gently manicured into undulating land overlooking the Southern Ocean. Grant remarks “Ocean Dunes will captivate the golfer with stunning coastal views and inland holes that meander through majestic sand dunes.” and “The golf courses are going to be of a similar nature to Cypress Point and Pebble Beach,” referring to Cape Wickham and Ocean Dunes.

After your day’s play, hand in your cards and depart for the world-renowned Barnbougle Golf Links on Tasmania’s North East coast. Arriving in the afternoon, you will enjoy an evening of local produce and fine Tasmanian wines whilst we make the day’s presentations.  The following morning you will tee off for the third round at Barnbougle Dunes (Rated #2 Golf Course in Australia by Australian Golf Magazine (2013) and #11 in the World by U.S. Golf Digest).

On completion of the day’s golf you and your fellow golfers can then relax with a quiet drink, before being treated to a three-course function and presentations at the highly acclaimed Lost Farm Restaurant.

Your final day will begin with breakfast followed by golf at Barnbougle Lost Farm (Ranked as the #2 public course in Australia by Golf Australia Magazine, and #23 in the World by US Golf Digest). On completion of your round, final presentations will take place in the Lost Farm Sports Bar, announcing the day’s winners and the highly anticipated crowning of the official 2016 Bass Strait Masters overall champions.

This experience will bring to you both world-class golf, and world-class dining. Both King Island andthe Tasmanian mainland are renowned for their award-winning cheeses, succulent seafood, fresh farm-produce and delicious wines – all of which will be enjoyed by you daily, during this outstanding 4 day tour.
